As I have said a number of times before, I live in an awesome little town.
Starting last year, our town of Bellingen has implimented a fantastic festival celebrating what makes us great. Centred around our beautiful river, and free for all, this festival features local bands, storytellers, community organisations, and local businesses – and encompasses the theme of protecting our precious environment. The workers and volunteers that made this such an amazing day deserve to be congratulated.
The photos below are just a small taste of what was on offer all day – having a toddler meant I missed three hours in the middle of the day while he slept unfortunately, but I managed to get a few photos throughout the day. It was a bit of a cloudy day, but the rain held off – mostly – we had a huge downpour just before the parade! However, the rain stopped just as the parade began and the gorgeous (and sexy) dancing girls and drummers lead hundreds of townspeople across the bridge. I had to take the toddler home to bed after this, but the townsfolk partied on into the night.
If you’re ever visiting the North Coast of NSW, don’t forget to drop by. We’re a friendly, diverse bunch in Bello. I’m sure you will fall in love.
